Invisible Waves
A woman killed and (maybe) piece by piece.
A man living in a foreign country.
crime which is the background to the story. The film
Ratanaruang has a strong internal consistency (but also outside, I think the heterogeneity of the crew) not only refers to the use of the usual players, here we find Tadanobu Asano, but specifically in the narrative topoi investente returning with symbolic power.
A murder, a death, and then puts everything in motion the mechanism that will physically support the film as in 6ixtynin9 (1999). What we see is a man haunted by strange trip that may accidents are not accidents, but what I really feel crime goes beyond the mere setting the film. If it is true that the protagonist is the executor on behalf of a boss, and then his departure to Phuket marked by ambiguous coincidences [1] should stimulate The Angela Lansbury in us, but what raises the film is a sensation of detachment from reality diegetic, or the implications / reasons for the assassination, in favor of a reflection, again and always required the existence ("I know what's out there: the war") which then puts a veil on the history of classical Eastern spirituality.
The plot is rather thin on closer if you think it was smeared on a sandwich two hours long. The fact that there is some open area would fall into the background compared to the elegance that Pen-Ek can give to his work. Instead of smashing the brain about how Kyoji able, for example, to return to Hong Kong, it is better to enjoy the detachment of the assembly: the sea frame building designed by the waves. What happened? It does not matter, not as the settling of scores has a very funny and anti-gender counterbalanced by an ending that leaves many questions.
Well, see Invisible Waves trying to understand the concrete steps of the film is simplistic operation, better to travel on the usual track of the Far East carrying into worlds beyond and above all others. The slow lateral tracking shots blocked, often by insurmountable walls (some things remain invisible ) supported by the precious environment of Christopher Doyle project in a film size of boundless beauty that still does not lack meaning.
